Walking for Women
On Saturday the 28th March around 40 people, and several dogs, gathered in Penn Street Buckinghamshire for a five mile sponsored walk. This walk raised awareness of the Women of Action initiative and enough funds to support over 5 women’s groups for a year in Bangladesh. This will have a significant impact on a whole village and will help over 60 disadvantaged women to lift their families out of poverty. Well done to all involved!

The Anando women's group
Anando means ‘joy’. This group is one
the five learning and savings groups
supported in 2009 by this walk.
The
Anando group is from the village of
Goshaibari, where many families struggle
to access clean drinking water and have
lost land due to river erosion.

“Having watched some truly awful
and heartbreaking stories on National
Geographic, joining this walk is my way
of being grateful for the life that I have."
"If I were one of those poor women I would
take any opportunity of escaping that life,
Women of Action offers that opportunity.”
Sue Craigie, Buckinghamshire.
